Neural Siege: Outthink a machine that thinks ahead.

Play Neural Siege now · free, no download, no sign-up

Neural Siege is a strategy board game about spreading across a 7x7 grid. You move one of your nodes by cloning it into a neighbouring cell or jumping it two cells away, and every enemy node touching the cell where you land switches to your colour. One good move can swing the whole board.

Your opponent is NEXUS, a computer player that searches ahead through your possible replies and comments on the game as it goes. It starts gentle and gets sharper with each of its ten tiers. You can also invite a friend to a private online table and play on two phones.

How to play

  1. You play cyan. Tap one of your nodes, then tap the cell where it should go.
  2. A clone moves one cell. The original stays, so you gain a node.
  3. A jump moves two cells. The node leaves its old cell empty.
  4. Every enemy node touching the cell you land on becomes yours.
  5. Dark cells are blocked and can never be used.
  6. If you have no legal move, you pass. The game ends when the board is full, one side has no nodes left, or neither side can move; the most nodes wins.
  7. Stuck? HINT asks NEXUS for its own best move, three times per match.

Game modes

Vs NEXUS

Play the computer and climb ten tiers. Each win moves you up a tier, where NEXUS searches deeper and plays faster. You get three hints per match.

Online private table

Create a table and share its code or link with a friend, who joins on their own phone or computer. Host and guest keep fixed colours, and a rematch is one tap away.

Tips

About the game

Neural Siege builds on a classic family of infection-style board games, where pieces multiply and capture by contact rather than by jumping over each other. The twist is the opponent: a search-based AI with a personality, which makes the tiers feel like climbing a ladder of ever stronger players.

The square board fits a phone held upright and fills the centre of a desktop screen, and every move is a simple tap or click, so it plays the same everywhere.
