Sudoku Zen

Play Sudoku Zen now · free, no download, no sign-up
Sudoku Zen is classic 9x9 sudoku with a calm, clean look. Fill the grid so that every row, every column and every 3x3 box contains the numbers 1 to 9 exactly once. Every puzzle has exactly one solution, so you can always solve it by logic without guessing.
Choose from four difficulty levels and play as many puzzles as you like. Pencil notes, undo, erase and hints help when a puzzle gets tough, and a gentle three-mistake rule keeps you honest. It suits newcomers learning the basics as well as experienced solvers looking for an expert challenge.
How to play
- Fill the grid so each row, column and 3x3 box contains every number from 1 to 9 once.
- Tap a cell, then tap a number to place it.
- A wrong number turns red and counts as a mistake. Three mistakes end the puzzle.
- Switch on notes mode to write small pencil marks for the numbers a cell could hold.
- Use undo and erase to change your mind, and a hint to reveal a number. You get three free hints per puzzle.
- Finish without any mistakes for three stars.

- If a box has only one place left for a number, put it there.
- On hard puzzles, write every candidate in notes, then cross them out as you place numbers.
- Every puzzle has exactly one solution, so a correct deduction never needs a guess.
- There is no timer pressure, so take a breath before placing a number you are unsure of.
About the game
Sudoku is a number placement puzzle that grew out of older magic-square and Latin-square puzzles and became a daily habit for millions. Sudoku Zen keeps the rules exactly as they are and focuses on a quiet, uncluttered board with crisp digits.
On a phone the grid sits above a large number pad in portrait. On a desktop the board and the pad sit side by side, and the full keyboard support makes solving fast.
