Flipside is a one-tap runner in a neon corridor. Your little cube never stops running; a tap flips gravity so it falls up to the ceiling, and another tap brings it back down. That is the only control you need.
It is made for quick, intense runs and the urge to go one more time. The rules are simple, but the course keeps throwing spikes, gaps and pulsing lasers at you, and the best scores come from cutting it close.
How to play
- Tap to flip gravity and fall to the ceiling; tap again to fall back to the floor.
- Spikes, missing floor and sliding blocks end the run, so be on the other side as you pass them.
- Lasers pulse with the beat; flip through them only while they are dark.
- You cannot flip in mid-air, but a tap just before you land is remembered.
- Grab gems and scrape past hazards for a close shave; chain them for x2, x3, x5 and more.
Controls
On a phone or tablet
Tap anywhere to flip. In two-player mode each player taps their own half of the screen.
On a computer
Click or press Space (or Up, Down, W or S). Two players use A versus L.
Game modes
Solo
Run as far as you can; a gold dashed line marks your best distance.
Daily
One course a day, the same for everyone, with a streak to keep up.
Vs computer
Two lanes and the same course against an easy, medium or hard runner. Last one running wins.
2 players
Two lanes on one screen; each player taps their own half. Last runner standing wins.
Tips
- Flip early rather than late, since you cannot flip while in the air.
- Tap just before landing to chain flips smoothly.
- Lasers are dark every other beat, so listen to the music.
- The faster you go, the more ground a flip covers, so start flips sooner at speed.
- Close shaves are worth the risk only when you are sure of the gap.
About the game
Flipside belongs to the gravity-flip family of platform games, where you cannot jump, only switch which way is down. Every course section is checked by a solver to be survivable, so a crash is always a timing mistake.
On a phone it is a pure one-thumb game. On a desktop any of several keys flips, and two players can share a keyboard for a race.
