Metro Getaway

Play Metro Getaway now · free, no download, no sign-up
Metro Getaway is an open 3D city you can explore on foot or behind the wheel. Walk the sidewalks, hop into any car you find, from small compacts and taxis to sports cars, vans and buses, and cruise downtown, over the river bridges and around the highway ring while the day turns to sunset and night.
It is made for anyone who likes driving games with a bit of mischief. Speed past a police car or run a red light and the wanted stars start to climb, so you have to lose them before you get busted. It is family friendly: there are no weapons, and nobody is ever hurt.
How to play
- Walk up to a car and press the enter button (E on a keyboard) to get in; press it again to get out.
- Drive with the gas and brake buttons and steer with the stick, or use the arrow or WASD keys.
- Hold drift (Space) to slide round corners, and use the stunt ramps to fly over the river.
- Speeding, red lights or crashes near the police give you wanted stars; with stars the police chase you.
- If the police surround your stopped car you are busted and lose some cash, so stay out of sight until the stars fade, or drive through the respray shop.
- Follow the mission markers on the minimap to earn cash, then buy new cars and paint.

Daily
A daily parcel run with the same route for everyone that day and your best time.
Tips
- Turn into a side street when the police are close: once they lose sight of you, the stars start to fade.
- Sports and muscle cars are the fastest; vans, pickups and the bus are slower but heavy, so they shove other cars aside.
- Brake before a corner and drift through it instead of braking in the middle of the turn.
- Watch the traffic lights at crossings when police are nearby; a red light in front of them adds a star.
- The 30 tokens are spread across the whole island, some along the river banks, so explore every district to find them all.
About the game
Metro Getaway builds on the classic open-world city game: a living town with traffic and people, cars to borrow, missions to take and police who notice when you break the rules. The city, its cars and its people are all original, made for this game in a bright, low-poly style.
On a computer you get a wide view with shadows; on a phone the game uses lighter settings so it stays smooth, and in two-player mode the top half of the screen turns round so the second player can hold the other end of the phone.
