Cozy Cats is a quiet logic puzzle with a warm, homely look. The board is split into coloured patches, and your job is to tuck exactly one sleepy cat into every row, every column and every colour. The catch is that cats like their space: no two may touch, not even corner to corner.
There is no guessing needed. Every board can be solved by careful reasoning, which makes it a good fit for anyone who enjoys number-free puzzles, from a five-minute break to a longer evening session. Boards start small and grow, so you learn the patterns as you go.
How to play
- Tap a square to place a cat there.
- Each row, each column and each coloured region must end up with exactly one cat.
- No two cats may touch, including diagonally.
- Turn MARK on to write a cross in squares where a cat cannot go; this is just a note for yourself.
- A wrong cat costs a heart, and you have three hearts per board.
- In solo play you can use a hint when you are stuck; your stars depend on your time and the hearts you have left.
Controls
On a phone or tablet
Tap a square to place a cat. Use the MARK button to switch between placing cats and writing crosses, and HINT when you need help.
On a computer
Click squares with the mouse, and click the MARK and HINT buttons in the same way.
Game modes
Solo
Stages that grow from 5×5 to 9×9 boards, with one to three stars for time and hearts.
Vs computer
You and the computer race to finish the same board; the computer solves at an easy, medium or hard pace.
2 players
Split screen on one device: both players solve the same board at the same time, and the first to finish wins.
Tips
- Start with the colour that has the fewest squares; it leaves the fewest options.
- When two colours fit only inside the same two rows, no other colour can place a cat in those rows.
- Each cat you place rules out its row, its column, its colour and all eight squares around it.
- If a square would leave some row, column or colour with nowhere to go, mark it with a cross.
- Use MARK freely: crosses cost nothing and keep you from losing hearts.
About the game
Cozy Cats is based on a family of grid placement puzzles where you place one token per row, column and region without neighbours touching. It swaps abstract stars and symbols for curled-up cats and soft colours, and adds hearts, hints and stars so you can measure your progress.
On a phone the board fits neatly in portrait and every move is a single tap. On a desktop the larger screen makes the big 9×9 puzzles easier to scan, and the mouse makes placing cats and crosses quick.
