Doodle Dash is a draw-and-guess party game. Someone draws a secret word, everyone else tries to guess it as quickly as they can, and the fastest correct answers earn the most points.
It is built for families, classrooms and game nights, but also works on your own: the computer can draw doodles stroke by stroke for you to guess. There are 412 family-friendly words in seven packs, from animals and food to things that go and people and jobs.
How to play
- In guessing modes, a doodle appears stroke by stroke; type what it is and press GUESS.
- The faster you guess correctly, the more points you score.
- Hint letters appear over time, and spaces, capitals and plurals do not matter.
- When drawing, pick a secret word and draw it so the others can guess.
- In pass and play, the next player watches a replay of the drawing and guesses before taking their own turn.
Controls
On a phone or tablet
Draw with your finger and type guesses on the on-screen keyboard. In party mode, your phone is your own drawing pad and keyboard.
On a computer
Draw with the mouse and type guesses on your keyboard, pressing Enter to submit.
Game modes
Solo
Guess rush: eight computer doodles to guess as fast as you can, on easy, medium or hard drawing speed.
Vs computer
Race a computer guesser to the answer on the same doodles; the first right answer takes the points.
Pass and play
Two to six players share one phone, taking turns to draw and guess.
Party (QR)
Show the game on a big screen and everyone joins by scanning a QR code with their phone. The drawer draws on their phone, the drawing appears on the big screen, and everyone else types guesses on their own phone.
Tips
- When drawing, start with the overall shape, then add one clear detail that makes it unique.
- Skip shading and fine detail; speed matters more than art.
- When guessing, type early, since points drop as time passes.
- Use the category to narrow down your guesses.
- Watch for hint letters, which reveal the word's length and some of its letters.
About the game
Drawing and guessing games are a long-standing party favourite, from paper and pencil to whiteboards. Doodle Dash brings the idea to phones, with a party mode that turns a TV or laptop into the shared canvas while every player uses their own phone.
On a phone in portrait you get a full drawing pad, while on desktop the canvas is larger and guesses can be typed on a real keyboard. Coins unlock four paper themes.
