Raja Mantri Chor Sipahi

Raja Mantri Chor Sipahi is the four-chit game that generations of Indian children played on the back bench with folded scraps of paper. Four chits are shuffled and each player takes one in secret: Raja, Mantri, Sipahi or Chor. The Raja reveals himself and calls out for the Mantri to find the Chor, and then everything depends on one guess.
It is a short, funny game of bluffing and reading faces, good for kids, families and anyone who remembers playing it in school. Here the computer kids show tells on their faces, you can put on a calm face or an innocent whistle when you are a suspect, and friends can join on one phone or from their own phones.
How to play
- Each round, four chits are dealt in secret: Raja is worth 1000, Mantri 800, Sipahi 500 and Chor 0.
- The Raja shows his chit and calls: Mantri, find the Chor!
- The Mantri must guess which of the two remaining players is the Chor.
- A right guess means everyone keeps their chit's points. A wrong guess swaps the Mantri and the Chor: the Mantri scores 0 and the Chor 800.
- When you are a suspect, choose a face: stay calm, whistle innocently or point at the other player.
- After 5 or 10 rounds, the player with the most points wins.
Controls
On a phone or tablet

On a computer
Everything is played with mouse clicks on the chits, faces and players.
Game modes
Vs computer
Play with three computer kids. On easy their faces give honest tells, on medium the tells are less reliable, and on hard they sometimes bluff.
Pass and play
Up to four players share one phone and each peeks at their chit in private.
Party (QR)
The table shows on a big screen and players join by scanning a QR code; each phone shows only that player's chit. Four play at a time, extra guests rotate in or guess the Chor from the audience.
Tips
- Watch for blinking, sweating and darting eyes, but remember that hard computer kids can act.
- A sweat drop is a bad sign on easy and medium; on hard it may be a trick.
- Pointing at the other suspect works more often than not.
- Whistling fools some Mantris and makes others more suspicious, so mix it up.
- As Mantri, save your one peek for a round where the faces give nothing away.
About the game
The game needs nothing but four slips of paper, which is why it spread through classrooms and family gatherings across India. This version keeps the simple scoring and the single guess, and adds expressive faces, bluff choices and a party mode for groups larger than four.
On a phone it works as a pass-around game, with a private peek so nobody sees your chit. On a desktop or a laptop connected to a TV, party mode puts the table on the big screen while everyone holds their own chit on their phone.
