Hoop Shot is a simple basketball shooting game. You swipe the ball up towards the hoop: the direction of your swipe aims the shot and its length sets the power. Sink a basket for a point, or drop a clean swish that touches nothing but net for two.
Three swishes in a row set the ball on fire, doubling your points while it lasts. After ten baskets the hoop starts sliding from side to side, so you must judge both power and timing. One miss ends the run, which makes every shot count. It is perfect for short breaks and friendly score battles.
How to play
- Swipe up towards the hoop to shoot. A longer swipe means more power.
- Each basket is worth one point; a clean swish that misses the rim is worth two.
- Three swishes in a row set the ball on fire, and your points are doubled.
- Bank shots off the backboard count too.
- After ten baskets the hoop begins to move.
- One miss ends the run.
- The AIM booster shows the arc of your shot while you swipe.
Controls
On a phone or tablet
Swipe up from the ball towards the hoop and let go to shoot. Tap AIM to show your shot arc.

Click and drag upwards with the mouse, then release to shoot. Click AIM to show the arc.

A solo run that lasts until your first miss. Your best score and longest streak are saved.
Tips
- Find a swipe length that works and repeat it exactly.
- Swipe straight at the hoop, not at the backboard.
- Short swipes tend to hit the front of the rim; long ones bank in off the board.
- When the hoop moves, shoot as it passes the middle.
- Use AIM to learn the arc, then try without it.
- Take your time before each shot; there is no clock, so line up the swipe calmly.
About the game
Hoop Shot takes the arcade basketball machine and the flick-to-shoot phone game and combines them into one quick challenge. The ball flies in depth towards the basket, so you get the feel of a real shot from a simple swipe.
On a phone it feels natural to flick with your thumb in portrait. On a desktop you drag with the mouse, which makes it easy to repeat a precise swipe length.
