Link Lines is a connect-the-dots logic puzzle. The board is scattered with pairs of coloured dots, and you draw a pipe from each dot to its twin. Pipes cannot cross each other, and a level is only solved when every single square of the board is filled.
That last rule is what makes it clever. The obvious short route is often wrong, because it leaves empty squares that nothing can reach. Boards grow from 5 by 5 up to 9 by 9 as you progress, and every level is generated so it always has a solution. It is a relaxing brain teaser for players of any age.
How to play
- Drag from a dot to draw a pipe to the other dot of the same colour.
- Pipes cannot cross. Drawing over an existing pipe cuts it.
- Fill every square of the board to solve the level.
- Solve in as few moves as possible to earn three stars.
- Stuck? HINT draws one correct pipe for you.
Controls
On a phone or tablet
Touch a dot and drag your finger along the squares to draw the pipe, then lift it at the matching dot.
On a computer
Click a dot and drag with the mouse to draw the pipe, then release over the matching dot.
Game modes
Levels
A solo run of endless levels that start on a 5 by 5 board and grow up to 9 by 9. Each level is rated with up to three stars, and your level and stars are saved.
Tips
- Pairs near the edges usually run along the edges.
- Connect the shortest, most obvious pairs first.
- An empty corner square needs a pipe that bends into it.
- Long pipes often wind around the outside of the board.
- Finish one colour before starting the next to save moves.
- Use HINT on the pair that confuses you most; one correct pipe often unlocks the rest.
About the game
Link Lines is based on the classic number-link puzzle, in which pairs must be joined by paths that never touch. The rule that every square must be filled turns a simple drawing game into a proper logic puzzle.
On a phone you trace pipes with your finger on a crisp portrait board. On a desktop you draw with the mouse, and the larger boards are especially comfortable on a big screen.
