Untwine is a puzzle about a knot of glowing rings. The rings sit side by side on a honeycomb grid, and every pair of touching rings is linked. Each ring has a gap. Tap a ring to turn it, and when its gap faces a neighbour, that link opens. A ring with all of its links open slips free and flies away.
It is a short, satisfying brain teaser for all ages, with bright toy-like colours. The best moments are chain reactions: free one ring and its neighbours may suddenly be free too, clearing half the knot in one tap. Each level has a move limit and a par to beat.
How to play
- Tap a ring to turn it 60 degrees clockwise.
- Two touching rings are linked until one ring's gap faces the other.
- When all of a ring's links are open, it slips free and flies away.
- Freed rings can free their neighbours in a chain reaction.
- Gold couplers make two rings turn together, and padlocked rings never turn.
- Clear the knot within the move limit; beat par for three stars.

Game modes
Levels
A series of knots that introduce gold couplers and padlocked rings as you progress, each with a move limit, par and up to three stars.
Tips
- Free the outer rings first; the core gets easier.
- Five turns equal one turn back, so plan ahead instead of spinning.
- Line up several gaps, then trigger a chain with one tap.
- With coupled rings, check what both rings will face after the turn.
- Padlocked rings can only be freed by turning their neighbours to face them.
About the game
Untwine borrows from rotation puzzles and mechanical ring puzzles, where the solution is in the order of small turns. On a hexagonal grid each ring has six neighbours, which gives simple rules surprising depth.
On a phone it plays in portrait with single taps. On desktop you click, and the larger view makes it easy to read every gap.
