Block Drop Wall

Play Block Drop Wall now · free, no download, no sign-up
Block Drop Wall turns the falling-blocks classic into a throwing game. It is made for events: a giant handheld-style console is projected on a wall, players throw soft balls at it and a LiDAR sensor detects where each one lands. On this website a tap or a click stands in for a ball.
Instead of buttons, where you hit the wall decides what the piece does. It is a fresh challenge even for people who know the classic well, and great fun to watch.
How to play
- Hit beside the falling piece to push it one column away from your ball.
- Hit the top of the piece to rotate it.
- Hit the empty well under the piece to slam it down.
- Fill a whole row to clear it.
- Clearing two or more rows at once pushes junk rows into your rival's well.
Controls
On a phone or tablet
Tap beside, on top of or below the piece, just where a ball would hit.
On a computer
Click beside, on top of or below the falling piece.
Game modes
Solo
Clear as many lines as you can in two minutes before the bricks reach the top.
Vs computer
You throw at the left console while a virtual stacker plays the right, at easy, medium or hard.
2 players
Player one throws at the left console and player two at the right; junk rows fly between them.
Tips
- Aim beside the piece, not at it: the side you hit pushes it the other way.
- Slam only when the ghost outline sits where you want the piece.
- Leave a gap and clear two rows at once to send junk to your rival.
- Rotate early, while the piece is high and you have time.
- Keep the stack low and flat to give yourself room.
About the game
The falling-blocks puzzle is one of the most famous video game ideas, and the old brick-game handhelds made it a pocket classic. This version keeps the line-clearing rules and replaces the buttons with throws, so aim becomes part of the puzzle.
On a phone you tap around the piece. On a projector at an event, two players can each take a console and battle with junk rows.
Questions
- Is it free to play here?
- Yes. The website version is free in your browser, with a tap or click standing in for each thrown ball.
- How is it played at an event?
- The consoles are projected on a wall and players throw soft balls; a LiDAR sensor detects each hit and turns it into a push, rotate or slam.
- Can two people play?
- Yes. Each player has their own console, and big clears send junk rows to the other.
