Play Lagori now · free, no download, no sign-up
Lagori brings the seven-stones street game to an interactive wall. It is made for events: a stack of seven painted stones is projected on a wall, players throw soft balls and a LiDAR sensor detects every hit. On this website a tap or a click stands in for a ball.
Anyone who played this game in a lane or schoolyard will recognise the rush: knock the stack down, then hurry to rebuild it while a tagger tries to stop you. It is a fun way to share a traditional game with a new generation.
How to play
- Throw a ball at your stack of seven stones to knock it down.
- Rebuild it by hitting the scattered stones in order, largest first; an arrow shows the next one.
- Each hit sends a stone flying back onto the pile.
- The tagger throws a tag ball that blocks a stone for a moment. Hit the tag ball in the air to swat it away.
- Scoring: knocking the stack scores 100, each stone 100, a full stack 500 and a swat 150.
Controls
On a phone or tablet
Tap the stack, the stones and the tag ball where a ball would hit.
On a computer
Click to throw. At an event, the operator can press Space or Enter to start, Esc to pause and R to return to the title.
Game modes
Solo
Rebuild as many stacks as you can in two minutes.
Vs computer
A virtual rival at easy, medium or hard rebuilds its own stack on the right half.
2 players
Left half against right half; the first to rebuild wins the stack, and most stacks wins.
Tips
- Always go for the biggest stone first; the arrow shows which one.
- Swat the tag ball before it lands for 150 points.
- Aim at the middle of the stack to knock it flat in one throw.
- A full rebuild is worth 500, so finish stacks rather than chasing swats.
- Stay calm when a stone is blocked; it frees up after a moment.
About the game
Lagori, also known as pittu or seven stones, is a traditional team game from India in which one side knocks over a pile of flat stones and races to rebuild it while the other side tries to tag them. This version captures the knock-down and rebuild for one or two players.
On a phone you tap the stones in order. On a projector at an event, two players race side by side on a split wall.
