In Hole Hungry you are a hole in the ground that keeps getting bigger. Steer it through a toy town and anything smaller than you tips over the rim and falls in: people and cones first, then cars and trees, buses, houses and finally skyscrapers. Every bite fills your growth meter until you reach the next size.
Six rival holes roam the same streets, and they are hungry too. A bigger hole can swallow a smaller one, including you, so a round is part feeding frenzy and part chase. Rounds last two minutes, which makes it an easy game to pick up for a few minutes and hard to put down.
How to play
- Drag anywhere on the screen to steer your hole around the city.
- Anything smaller than your hole falls in; bigger objects block your way.
- Swallow things to fill the meter and grow, so you can eat bigger objects.
- Holes bigger than yours can swallow you; swallowing a smaller hole gives a big bonus.
- After two minutes the biggest hole wins, and your rank earns stars and coins.
- Spend coins on new rim skins for your hole.
Controls
On a phone or tablet
Drag anywhere on the screen; your hole moves in the direction you drag.
On a computer
Move the mouse to steer, or use the W, A, S and D keys.
Game modes
Classic
Two minutes, seven holes. If you are swallowed you come back at half size and keep playing.
Elimination
One life: be the last hole standing, or the biggest when the clock runs out.
Clear the City
Just you in the city. Swallow as much of it as you can in two minutes and beat your best percentage.
Online table
Share a table code or link with a friend; you both play from your own phones in one city with rival holes, and the bigger of you two wins.
Tips
- Start small: people, cones and hydrants are the perfect first snacks.
- Head for a parking lot as soon as you can swallow cars.
- Keep away from holes bigger than you and chase the smaller ones.
- Downtown towers are worth a lot once you are big enough.
- Keep moving: the other holes are eating the city too.
About the game
Hole Hungry takes the arena idea of the browser growth games, where you eat to get bigger and must avoid anyone larger, and turns the city itself into the food. The physics of objects tilting over the rim and dropping in is the satisfying part.
On phones you steer with one finger in portrait. On desktop the mouse or keyboard gives smooth steering and the wider view helps you spot rival holes coming.
