Neon Trails is a duel of glowing riders on a dark grid. Your rider never stops moving and leaves a solid wall of light behind it. Hit any wall, whether it belongs to a rival, to the arena or to you, and your run is over. The last rider still moving wins the round, and the first to three rounds takes the match.
It is a game of space and nerve rather than reflexes alone. You claim room, cut across a rival's path with a boost, hop a trail with a jump when you are trapped, and turn at the very last moment for a slow-motion close call. Rounds last seconds, so it is easy to play just one more.
How to play
- Steer your rider through the grid; it keeps going forward on its own and draws a wall behind it.
- Touching any wall, including your own trail and the arena edge, knocks you out of the round.
- Hold boost to race ahead and cut rivals off; the meter refills slowly.
- Use a jump to hop over three cells, which clears a trail and gets you out of a trap. More jumps can be picked up on the grid.
- Turn just before a wall for a close call: time slows and you earn bonus points.
- Late in each round the arena walls close in, so space keeps shrinking.
Controls
On a phone or tablet
Tap the left or right side of the screen to turn, or swipe to point in a direction; BOOST and JUMP buttons sit on screen. In party mode players sit at opposite ends of the phone.
On a computer
Turn with the arrow keys or WASD, hold Shift or Q to boost and press Space or E to jump. In party mode the players use WASD, the arrows, IJKL and the number pad.

Survival
Face wave after wave of bot riders and push your score as high as you can.
Vs computer
Race one to three computer riders on easy, medium or hard.
Party
Two to four friends on one device, on one keyboard or one phone.
Online
A private table for two to four players on their own devices, with bots filling empty seats.
Daily
A survival run on the day's grid.
Tips
- Don't head for the edges early; hold the middle and let rivals run out of room.
- Riding alongside a rival, boost past them and turn across their path.
- Keep one jump in reserve for the moment you are boxed in.
- On the wrap-around arena the edges are not walls, so use them to escape.
- When space gets tight, ride close to your own trail so you waste no cells.
About the game
Neon Trails takes the light-cycle trail idea from classic arcade and computer games and adds boost, jump, four arena types (open grid, pillars, wrap-around and shrinking) and a synthwave look. Trail colours and rider shapes can be unlocked in the garage.
On a phone the controls are simple taps and swipes, and up to four people can share the screen from its edges. On a desktop the keyboard gives precise turns, and four players can crowd around one keyboard.
