Hop Highway

Play Hop Highway now · free, no download, no sign-up
Hop Highway puts a small critter at the bottom of a busy toy town and asks one question: how far can you get? Roads full of cars, trucks and buses, railway lines where trains thunder through, and rivers of drifting logs, lily pads and turtles stand between you and the next row of grass.
Each hop is quick and simple, but the town never ends and the traffic never waits. It suits short breaks on a phone as much as longer runs on a computer, and it gets more tense the further you go. Coins you pick up along the way unlock eight different critters.
How to play
- Hop forward, back, left or right one square at a time through the town.
- Cars, trucks and buses will squash you, so time your hops through the gaps.
- Water is deep: stand on logs, lily pads and turtles to cross, and watch for turtles that dive.
- Flashing signals on a railway line mean a train is coming; wait until it has gone by.
- Keep moving. If you dawdle or turn back too far, the sky hawk swoops down and your run ends.
- Collect coins on the way to unlock new critters.

Tips
- Queue a second hop while the first is still in the air to cross wide roads in one smooth move.
- Logs carry you sideways, so hop off before you drift off the edge of the screen.
- A turtle that starts to wobble is about to dive: get off it.
- There is no safe line between lanes on a wide road; read the gaps and go in one go.
- Don't spend too long waiting for a perfect gap, or the hawk will come for you.
About the game
Hop Highway builds on the classic arcade idea of guiding a small animal across traffic and a river, and turns it into an endless, ever-changing town with trains, diving turtles and a hawk that keeps you honest. The critters are original, cute and unlockable.
On a phone it plays in portrait with swipes and taps, so you can play one-handed. On a desktop the keyboard makes fast, precise hops, and two people can race side by side on one screen.
