Mole Smash is the mallet-and-holes game from the village fair, rebuilt for quick taps. Moles pop up from a board of holes and you have a moment to bonk each one before it ducks back down. The round starts gently and keeps speeding up, so the last seconds are a frantic scramble.
It suits anyone who likes short, fast reaction games, from kids to grown-ups killing a few minutes. Golden moles, helmeted moles and bombs make every round a little different, and the combo multiplier rewards you for keeping your hits clean.
How to play
- Tap or click a mole while it is out of its hole to bonk it.
- Hits in a row build your combo multiplier; a miss resets it.
- Golden moles are worth five times the points.
- Helmet moles need two hits: the first one only knocks the helmet.
- Leave bomb moles alone in Solo: hitting one costs 50 points and resets your combo.
- In two-sided games, cyan moles score for player 1 and orange moles for player 2.
Controls
On a phone or tablet
Tap the moles with your finger. Two players can share one phone, side by side or face to face.
On a computer
Click the moles with the mouse. Two players can share a touch screen.
Game modes
Solo
A 90-second round that gets faster and faster, with combos, golden moles and a best score to beat.
Vs computer
Share the board with a CPU hammer on easy, medium or hard. You hunt cyan moles, it hunts orange.
2 players
Two players on one board, each chasing their own colour. Sit side by side or use Table mode, where player 2's side is turned around for face-to-face play.
Tips
- Keep your eyes in the middle of the board so you can react to any hole, rather than chasing one corner.
- Do not tap empty holes hoping a mole appears; a miss, or a mole that escapes, breaks your combo.
- Hit helmet moles twice quickly before they duck, or skip them when time is short.
- In versus games a bomb mole blows up points of its own colour, so leave bombs in your colour and blast your rival's.
- Golden moles are worth chasing even across the board, especially with a high combo running.
About the game
Bonking moles with a padded mallet has been a fairground and arcade favourite for decades. Mole Smash keeps the instant appeal and adds modern touches: combos, special moles, stars for good rounds and coins that unlock new mallets and boards.
On a phone, quick thumb taps feel natural. On a desktop you click with the mouse in a wide window. The two-player Table layout is made for a phone or tablet lying flat between two people.
